Project Manager – Contract to Hire

Overview

McGuffin’s Project Managers (PM) are responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. In addition, this position manages project resources, prepares budgets, monitors progress, and keeps stakeholders informed the entire way. 

We view the PM as an essential internal hub of communication. They ensure everyone is clear on assignments, workloads are manageable, processes understood, calendars logical and hours billed to the correct job. Our PM is a solver-of-problems, and is deeply curious, inquisitive and diplomatic.


Expectations

  • Work with Client Services team to understand project requests, gather requirements, define objectives, deliverables and delivery dates 
  • Ensure projects are completed in a timely fashion and within budget
  • Work with CD to identify appropriate resources for marketing projects/campaigns, and create a workable plan
  • Work with CD and account lead to identify the best approach to the projects
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and client team members, establishing a role as a trusted resource and advisor
  • Own creation of project timelines – work with all departments  to get alignment and signoff prior to project start
  • Create project folders for the file server and communication channels, as well as maintain organization/asset management during creative development
  • Schedule and attend internal meetings related to creative development
  • Lead project/campaign teams from a workflow perspective; with weekly and daily check-ins and status meetings as needed
  • Manage external & internal communication/documentation with the team, client, and vendors; ensure all are informed of status and next steps
  • Monitor project/campaign milestones, ensuring all deliverables meet agreed-upon quality standards and our client’s expectations
  • Document all client change requests and review with appropriate personnel to issue scope change orders for approval
  • Support internal teams, discuss issues and conflicts, identify and address potential concerns, ensure accuracy of team resources, schedule and budget; seek solutions

Required Skills/Characteristics

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Alignment with McGuffin core values
  • Basecamp experience would be a plus, but not necessary

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
    • Five+ years of project management experience; full-service agency setting preferred
    • Managing and controlling creative workflow processes; involvement in all aspects of the creative project life cycle from estimating to concept to delivery
    • Resource allocation
    • Proficiency working in Excel, Basecamp and/or other project management programs to maintain schedules, communicate priorities and monitor budgets and details
    • Working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
    • PMI certification a  plus
    • Financial marketing experience a plus
