Umpqua Bank’s “Go-To” Platform is Ahead of Its Time
When Oregon-based Umpqua Bank first launched its digital-human “Go-To Banking” platform in September of 2018, they were ahead of the curve.
Restrictions on retail banking during the coronavirus pandemic have seen use of the mobile “Go-To” app rise exponentially. According to Brian Read, EVP of Retail and Business Banking at Umpqua:
“As more customers discover the personalization and convenience that comes through a platform like Go-To, combined with the convenience of digital and online banking tools, I think it’s reasonable to expect that many will continue utilizing them even when life returns to normal.”
Banking engagement has been heading outside of the retail space for some time, so we’re not surprised to see the concept of “a personal banker in everyone’s pocket” gain traction in the industry. It hasn’t been a question of “if,” but “when,” and now, “how far along” is your operation headed in the digital transformation direction?
